About us

A family-run home care service, based in Harrow.

Registered with the CQC in 6 July 2023, London Imperial Care was set up to run the kind of care service the founders wanted for their own family — small, accountable, and unhurried.

Who we are

Small enough to know every household.

We are a domiciliary care provider — a home care service, not a residential or nursing home. Our carers visit people in their own homes across Harrow & North West London.

The registered manager is named on our CQC registration and answerable for the standard of care delivered. Our rotas are planned by a small coordination team so that carers are matched to households, not shifts.

The team

Our carers

How we select and support carers.

The single biggest thing that shapes a care visit is the person who walks through the door. How we recruit, check, train and support that person is where our standards live.

Selection

  • Interviewed in person

Every applicant meets a member of the coordination team face-to-face before any offer is made — no agency shortlists, no phone-only hires.

  • Enhanced DBS and right-to-work checked

We complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and verify right-to-work documents before a carer is placed in a household.

  • Two written references

Including at least one from a previous care or healthcare employer where relevant, taken up and reviewed before induction.

  • Recruited for character first

We recruit for warmth, patience and reliability, and train for skill. Experience is welcome; the wrong temperament is not.

Support

  • Paid induction and shadowing

New carers are paid through a structured induction and shadow experienced colleagues before working unsupervised.

  • Ongoing training

Refresher training in manual handling, medication, safeguarding, infection control and dementia care, scheduled through the year.

  • A named coordinator, not a call centre

Every carer has one coordinator they can reach directly — for a rota question, a safeguarding concern or a difficult visit.

  • Realistic travel time and consistent rotas

Rotas are built with travel time between calls, and carers are matched to households so the same familiar faces return.

  • Supervision and appraisal

Regular one-to-one supervision, spot checks in the field, and an annual appraisal — with clear routes to raise concerns.

What we hold to

Three words on the first page of every care plan.

  1. 01Empathy first

We begin by understanding the whole person

Every care plan starts with listening — routines, fears, preferences and family dynamics — so support feels personal from the first visit.

  2. 02Kindness daily

    Small actions delivered with warmth

From helping with breakfast to offering calm companionship, kindness is built into each task, so support never feels clinical or rushed.

  3. 03Compassion always

We stay steady through difficult moments

Compassion means being present on the harder days too, supporting families with patience and dignity when care matters most.
