FAQs & resources
Questions families ask us.
Straight answers to the things people most often want to know. For anything else, telephone us — we would rather you asked.
How quickly can care begin?
+
Usually within a few days of the home visit, once the care plan is agreed. For urgent situations — a hospital discharge, for example — please telephone us and we will tell you honestly what we can do.
Do we have to commit to a minimum number of hours?
+
We ask for a workable minimum per visit so carers have time to do the job properly, but there is no long-term contract. Care can step up or down at any time.
What happens at the free home visit?
+
We meet everyone involved, walk through the home, talk about routines and risks, and leave you with a written summary. It usually takes about an hour.
What does home care cost?
+
It depends on the level and hours of support. We give every family a written quotation after the free home visit, and we are happy to discuss rates on the phone before you book.
Can care be funded by the local authority?
+
Yes, where a needs assessment has been completed and a personal budget agreed. We can invoice against direct payments and will explain the process.
Do you help with NHS Continuing Healthcare?
+
We can work alongside an existing CHC package. We are not the funding authority, but we can point you to the right team at your ICB.
Who will be coming into our home?
+
A small, consistent team — usually one or two carers — introduced to you before care begins. Every carer is interviewed in person, enhanced-DBS checked, referenced and trained before they work unsupervised.
What if we don't get on with a carer?
+
Tell us. Matching is part of our job and we would rather change a carer than have a household put up with the wrong fit.
What happens if our regular carer is off sick?
+
The care coordinator arranges cover from within our team, briefed on the care plan. We will always tell you in advance where we can.
Which areas do you cover?
+
We are based in Harrow and care for families across North West London, including Wealdstone, Pinner, Stanmore, Edgware, Kenton, Wembley, Northwood and Ruislip. If you are nearby but unsure, please ask.
What if needs change?
+
Care plans are reviewed regularly and can step up or down at any time — more hours, fewer hours, overnight or live-in support. Nothing changes without being agreed with you first.
Are you inspected by the CQC?
+
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission (Location ID 1-16443414475) and held to the same national standards as every registered provider. Our first inspection has not yet been carried out; when a rating is issued it will be published on the CQC's website and here.
